“Kingdom Hearts 3” has been one of the most awaited video games for the past several years. And fans who are lucky enough to attend Gamescom 2018 in Cologne, Germany have the chance to play the title’s demo.
Kotaku UK reported on their experience playing the “Kingdom Hearts 3” playable demo in the ongoing convention. And their mini review stands by the beautifully made gameplay visual of Square Enix’s upcoming title.
After a long wait, fans of the franchise have seen a lot of video teasers for “Kingdom Hearts 3” especially this year. These trailers reveal the Disney worlds and “Final Fantasy” themes present in the upcoming game. While these videos already look impressive, Kotaku UK reports that these trailers actually do not give the actual gameplay visual enough justice.
The same report commented that it is impressive how the developers and animators made an effort to make the very tiny details look as realistic as possible. The review gave particular praise to the impressive looks of even the “wear and tear on the toys.” Ultimately, the review said the experience of playing “Kingdom Hearts 3” demo was as if they were playing a Pixar movie.
In terms of gameplay and visual animation, Kotaku UK suggests that Square Enix has an upcoming “Kingdom Hearts” title that is “more polished than ever.” The report assures fans that the actual experience of playing “Kingdom Hearts 3” makes up for all the waiting they had to endure in the past 13 years since “Kingdom Hearts 2.”
Square Enix brought two game levels as playable demos for “Kingdom Hearts 3” at Gamescom 2018, according to a previous announcement. Attendees of the said convention can sample the game’s “Toy Story”- and “Hercules”-inspired worlds.
Apart from the highly praised gameplay visual, “Kingdom Hearts 3” is already looking like a massive game. New and returning worlds were confirmed to be included in the upcoming game. Apart from “Hercules” and “Toy Story,” locations and characters from other Disney titles included in the game are from “Tangled,” “Big Hero 6,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “Frozen,” “Ratatouille,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” and more.
“Kingdom Hearts 3” will be released worldwide on Jan. 29. Square Enix has only announced ports for the PS4 and Xbox One.
