The next major video games conference will be Gamescom 2018, happening later this year. Fans of the “Kingdom Hearts” series attending the event are about to have a great time. It has been confirmed that Square Enix will be bringing a couple of “Kingdom Hearts 3” gameplay demos to the venue.

Square Enix will be having a hefty lineup of gameplay demos available at Gamescom 2018. As for the “Kingdom Hearts 3” demo setup, the game developer and publisher will be offering “two playable demos.”

Gamescom 2018 attendees can visit Square Enix’s booth to get an early glimpse of the Olympus world. According to the official rundown of Square Enix’s Gamescom plans (via ComicBook), one of the featured playable demos is a boss battle against Rock Titan. The character is also known as Lythos and was originally featured as a villain in the “Hercules” animated film by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

The second playable “Kingdom Hearts 3” demo at Gamescom 2018 will feature the Toy Box world inspired by the blockbuster hit “Toy Story” film series from Disney Pixar. In this particular gameplay, players will be joined by “Toy Story” characters Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

Aside from the playable demos, Square Enix is going big in promoting “Kingdom Hearts 3” at the Gamescom 2018 through other booth setups. “Visitors can also take part in prime picture opportunities, including a giant Keyblade, and becoming a real-life toy in a replica of Andy’s room from the Disney Pixar classic, ‘Toy Story,’” Square Enix’s Gamescom 2018 rundown reads. The video games conference is happening on Aug. 21 to 25 in Cologne, Germany.

These sections of the “Kingdom Hearts 3” gameplay have also been reviewed by several media outlets and they, generally, gave it good feedback. Recently, Den of Geek mentioned that the “Hercules” part nails its objective of giving players a sense of a homecoming while also smoothly introducing new elements like improving Sora’s movements and agility overall.

It will take more than 13 years for “Kingdom Hearts 3” to follow “Kingdom Hearts 2,” which was released in December 2005, so the hype around the upcoming sequel is undeniable. “Kingdom Hearts 3” will be out on Jan. 29, 2019 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
