Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are considered as one of the wealthiest couples in Hollywood so when the former posted a photo of themselves while having breakfast in a middle-class home, they were criticized. They were called out for pretending to be poor when they are famous for flaunting their wealth.
According to In Style, after Kim Kardashian updated her Instagram with a picture showing her with husband Kanye West at a kitchen and seemingly eating cereals, people were quick to point out that the home in the photo is a far cry from their multimillion Calabasas mansion. Moreover, those who saw the picture assumed that the couple was wearing expensive clothes but posing in a modest house and they just could not understand it.
Some commented that perhaps, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West posed in that home for aesthetics and social media but still many find it something improper to do. One of the commenters wrote: "I wish I could pretend to be poor instead of actually being it" while another one remarked, “How millionaires go camping. This is playing poor for a photo shoot.”
But while there were many negative comments few people defended Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. "They want to show us that you can be poor and still be happy together, that is my thought," a fan said.
As it turned out the problematic photo of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” stars were taken at the studio of music producer Rick Rubin. It was located in Shangri-La Malibu and the picture was just one of the series of shots that were taken in 2017. It was not indicated what the photos are for.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West did not just appear in the headlines this week because of that Instagram update. The couple was in the news again for another reason which is PDA.
Entertainment Tonight reported that Kimye attended the birthday bash of Jonathan Chebans and while many celebrities were wary of the paparazzi, the “KUWTK” stars seem to be not bothered at all because they even kiss passionately right after alighting from their car. Their PDA just proved that they are still so much in love with each other, observers said.
