Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have been rumored to be dating for years, but the two have never confirmed this publicly. This is why when they appeared together at the 2019 Met Gala early this month, many were surprised. The pair are known to be very secretive about their relationship, so their very first public appearance was given many meanings.
Firstly, as Jamie and Katie suddenly showed up together at a public event, and they even posed for pictures, it just means that they are now confirming their relationship. But why did they do this now? Could they be considering marriage already and letting the people know that they are in a relationship is the first step for their wedding to be easily accepted by the public?
Marriage as the reason for their public acknowledgment on their dating status seems to make sense especially after Jamie Foxx’s daughter Corinne Foxx, also commented for the first time about her father’s and Katie Holme’s relationship. The 25-year-old did not just imply that she and Suri Cruise’s mom are getting along well, but she also expressed her approval for her dad’s girlfriend.
“They are so great and Katie is always so chic. They were wonderful and it was my dad’s first Met Gala,” USA Today quoted Corinne as saying. “They’re really good, really great.”
However, marriage may not be the reason for their Met Gala appearance. A source claimed that Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes finally stepped out and went public simply because they do not want to hide anymore.
“They are feeling more comfortable about being out in public together and not having to hide,” the tipster told E! News. “They still don’t want to have a public relationship but it was a lot of effort to keep things under wraps and never be able to go out together. The burden of that has been lifted and they are feeling a lot more free to just go out and do normal things.”
