Kate Middleton Preparing to Be Queen? Duchess of Cambridge Took Over A Role That Queen Elizabeth Has Been Serving for 67 Years

Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton is the wife of Prince William who is the second in line to the throne. This means that she can become the Queen sooner or later; thus, she is already preparing in case her husband is crowned as the next ruler of the British monarch.

It was reported that Kate recently received a new royal role from Queen Elizabeth. The Duchess of Cambridge has been appointed to take over one of the Queen’s official duties that she held for almost 67 years.

It was announced on Tuesday that Queen Elizabeth passed her role of Patron of The Royal Photographic Society to Kate Middleton. She picked Prince William’s wife for this role because the Duchess has an interest in photography, and her educational background made her the best candidate for the post.

“Her Royal Highness will join children from Action for Children in several sessions, run with Royal Photographic Society Honorary Fellows Jillian Edelstein and Harry Borden, that will cover various elements of photography such as portraits, light, and color,” the statement from the Buckingham Palace reads. “Alongside developing new skills, the workshop will highlight how photography provides a universal language for young people to express themselves and release their thoughts and feelings.”

Now, with her new role in the royal family, Express suggests that this could be part of preparing Kate for a bigger role when she becomes Queen. It was added that over the years, Prince William’s wife has been taking new responsibilities little by little so she will easily get used to her new role when the time comes that she needs to step in as Britain’s monarch.

While Prince Charles is the next in line to the throne when Queen Elizabeth leaves her position as the head of state, many people want Prince William to take over instead. They are asking Charles to skip his appointment and hand it to his son because he is more suitable for the job and point out that he is too old to fulfill his role once he sits as king.
