This year’s fall season is a big one for anime fans because many popular titles are coming back on the air with all-new episodes. However, some are still hoping that it could be even better with the announcement of upcoming series sequels such as “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2. It has been months since it's pilot season premiered, but the confirmation of its renewal remains elusive.
‘Kaguya-Sama: Love is War’ season 2 renewed or canceled?
One of the good things about this topic is that the producers have not definitively stated that “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2 will not be released. But that still leads anime fans to the indefinite guessing game of whether or not a second season will be produced.
However, another good indication of having more chances for the “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2 to happen is the fact that the original manga series is doing so well and currently has more than 160 chapters. The first season, which ran for 12 episodes, covered events from about 46 chapters. That shows there are plenty of source materials that can be used for an anime series sequel.
A live-action movie also premiered in Japan last month, covering almost the same events from the anime’s season 1. It was also supported by many fans, once again, showing that there could be enough support to demand the making of “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2.
‘Kaguya-Sama: Love is War’ season 2 plot: What to expect
“Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2 should continue the twisted love story of Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya. They are the two most intelligent students in the Shuchiin Academy and serves as the student council president and vice president, respectively. They both love each other, but they are too proud to be the first one to confess. Using their wits, they are constantly devising well-planned and impromptu tactics to make the other one the prey of a convoluted love confession trap.
If the anime will be renewed, the first episode of “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2 will likely immediately dive into another tug of war between Miyuki and Kaguya. The next season opens with the start of a new semester, so the students will be deciding on what elective classes to take. Kaguya and Miyuki want to be in the same class, but they have to figure out a way to make it happen without declaring their intentions or else they lose in their long-running mind games.
