Tron founder Justin Sun was declared Prime Minister of Liberland through a blockchain election, unveiling plans to make the micronation a libertarian "Vatican." His vision of minimal governance has drawn reactions from crypto leaders like Cardano's Charles Hoskinson.
Sun's Vision for Liberland’s Future
Sun outlined his plans for Liberland's future after he confirmed his position as prime minister and showed his excitement about the position. Sun argued that Liberland is more than a physical location; it is also a metaphor for a political ideology that promotes personal freedom, little government involvement, and independence.
He explained that the micronation's policy is to promote real economic development by cutting expenditure, taxation, and government intrusion in people's lives. Argentine President Javier Milei and U.S. Congressman Ron Paul are among the world leaders he mentioned as sharing these views.
Liberland: A Minimalistic Government Model
In addition, Justin Sun emphasized that Liberland is a prime illustration of how a minimalistic form of government may benefit its inhabitants. He went on to say that libertarian principles are congruent with those of entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, who support decentralization as a means to encourage innovation and advancement.
In addition, Sun stated that his goal as Prime Minister would be to establish Liberland as an example for other countries throughout the world by advocating libertarianism and limited government. He penned:
“Just as Vatican City represents a central spiritual authority for Catholics, Liberland will be the heart of the libertarian movement. Libertarians everywhere may have their own countries and nationalities, but Liberland will serve as their ideological homeland—a place where their beliefs in freedom, autonomy, and voluntary governance are respected and embodied.”
Tron’s Place in the Crypto World
Justin Sun has expressed his goal of putting Tron on par with Bitcoin and Ethereum over the next two years, as pointed out by Coingape.
Justin Sun went on to say that the one thing that makes Liberland special is that its residents are not limited by bloodlines or geography but by a common set of beliefs and principles. "No taxes, mandates, or forced obligations are imposed on its citizens," he stated in his writing.
Charles Hoskinson Reacts to Sun’s New Role
As a result, everyone will be able to contribute voluntarily and with mutual regard. Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of Cardano, commented on the news, saying that Sun's selection as prime minister of Liberland is the most insane thing that has ever happened in the market. Hoskinson couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry about it.
