Jungkook has a new achievement, and it was somehow surprising. This is because he bagged the “Best Worldwide Instagrammer” award at the 2019 MTV Millennial Awards when he does not even own an account on Instagram!
According to Allkpop, the youngest member of BTS was able to win the award because his fanbase did the work for him. It was his fan account that was picked for nomination, and it won. With the win, Jungkook beats out the other nominees for the category which include Shawn Mendes, Ariana Grande, Billie Ellish and Marshmallo.
Based on the report, the winners were determined through votes collected on social media sites - Instagram and Twitter. Fans were also able to cast their votes on the official MTV Latin America website.
Aside from Jungkook’s “Best Worldwide Instagrammer” award, his group BTS secured the trophy for the Explosion KPop award. The group went against similarly popular Kpop teams including Got7, EXO, Super Junior, BLACKPINK, iKON, TWICE and Red Velvet.
Meanwhile, a new mobile game inspired by BTS was created by Netmarble, one of South Korea’s biggest game producers. It is called the “BTS World,” and it was released on June 26.
Through the game, fans can play as BTS’ manager, and they can work to help the boys grow their careers and be successful. Jungkook is one of the first BTS members who promoted the game to their fans. He and Jimin were featured in a promotional video that was distributed on social media and fan cafes.
After the video of Jungkook and Jimin was posted, the game’s name written in Korean trended on Twitter. The hashtag #BTS월드 appeared at no. 1 in several countries signifying the success of the promo. The game is just one of the products developed for BTS after it infiltrated the American and overall global market.
