Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck announced that they have broken up and heading for divorce in 2015. At that time, although they have called it quits already, the actor still lives inside the compound where the home they once shared is located. They reasoned that they want to co-parent their kids in a way that they will still feel that their family is “whole” thus the living arrangement.
“They want it to be simple and this takes the drama out of it,” a source told Us Weekly. “It is important for them to keep this nice and efficient for the sake of their family.”
Overtime, Affleck went back to alcohol and he once again went for rehabilitation. It was Garner who brought him to the facility so this showed that they are still on good terms even with his lapse.
Jen is upset
Now, they are co-parenting beautifully after their divorce was finally made official in 2018. Then again, it was reported that the “Peppermint” actress is upset with her ex-husband because in his interviews while promoting “The Way Back” that will be released this month, he usually talks about his marriage when he should not.
During the promo tour, Affleck could not help but talk about alcoholism since he personally experienced the struggle in dealing with it. His character in the movie is also an alcoholic so the topic just naturally comes up when he opens up about his own struggles with alcohol.
Consequently, his relationship with Jennifer Garner is also mentioned since she was a big factor in helping him sober up. As said before, his ex even drove him to rehabilitation centers but it was reported that the actress is not happy with this.
“Jen’s telling mutual pals she’d rather he not use their failed marriage to promote his new movie,” a source told the tabloid via Gossip Cop. “John (Miller) put up with a lot, dating someone in the public eye, but he’s like, ‘Doesn’t Ben have anything else to talk about?’ and Jen agrees.”
The truth
The source said that Jen thinks Ben is going too far by choosing to talk about their divorce while promoting his new movie. However, Gossip Cop determined that this report is a made-up one.
The truth is - the ex-couple is in a good relationship and the actor even said in an interview that losing his wife was the biggest regret in his life. The actress also continues to support him even though they are not together anymore plus they regularly attend the Sunday service with their kids.
