Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are now officially divorced and both stars seem to have taken on a new glow following this development. The divorce was finalized at Garner’s Pacific Palisades, California mansion, where lawyers and a private judge oversaw the whole process, The Daily Mail reported.

A few months ago, Jennifer Garner decided to delay the divorce proceedings as she wanted to give Ben Affleck some time to work on his sobriety. A few weeks later, the “Good Will Hunting” actor suffered his third relapse into alcohol addiction.

The relapse came days after Ben Affleck broke up with Lindsay Shookus, whom he had been dating for over a year. After hearing of the incident, Jennifer Garner quickly came to the side of her now ex-husband and took the actor to a rehabilitation facility in Malibu.

Forty days later, Ben Affleck managed to get back on his feet, something that Jennifer Garner took as a sign that “The Town” actor was ready to finalize their separation. The decision seems to be doing wonders for both celebrities as recent photos of them show them smiling and looking healthy, especially the “Argo” star.

Of course, the next step for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner is to continue co-parenting their kids, Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6. Even though the pair hasn’t exactly been meeting eye to eye ever since they split in 2015, they are doing a great job of raising their kids, more so in the case of the “Alias” alum.

Ben Affleck, on the other hand, still has a mountain to climb in order to finally conquer his alcohol addiction, which he has been struggling with for years. But it seems that he’s heading in the right direction as the “Armageddon” actor reportedly split from his recent flame, Shauna Sexton. Jennifer Garner is said to be not fond of Ben Affleck dating the 22-year-old Playboy model, especially since Sexton is quite the party girl herself.

Now, reports are claiming that Ben Affleck decided to part ways with Shauna Sexton as he wants to focus on his sobriety. While Jennifer Garner remains quiet regarding this, it’s safe to assume that she’s glad that her ex-husband is prioritizing his health. The “Peppermint” actress previously said that she will always have Affleck’s back as she doesn’t want their kids to grow up without a father.
