Ben Affleck has yet to conquer his alcohol addiction as the “Batman” actor is still in The Canyon Treatment Center at Peace Park in Malibu. Affleck was recently brought there by Jennifer Garner after he suffered his third relapse in finding comfort at the bottom of a bottle.
The relapse is being tied to Ben Affleck’s recent breakup with Lindsay Shookus, whom he had dated for over a year. Following the split, “The Town” actor was then photographed receiving alcohol delivery at his house and quickly found a new flame in Playboy model Shauna Sexton. This development is supposedly “frustrating” Jennifer Garner as the model might be a hindrance to the actor’s road to sobriety, Inquistr reported.
It’s no secret that Shauna Sexton is fond of partying and alcohol, the latest piece of evidence of which is said to have been highlighted in her Instagram story. The post allegedly had Ben Affleck’s latest girlfriend playing flip cups, which involved alcohol. This very premise is why Jennifer Garner is supposedly not a fan of her ex-husband’s new flame as the actress wants the “Good Will Hunting” actor to be a responsible father when their divorce is finalized.
Ben Affleck’s recent relapse created another storm of rumors for the actor and those close to him. Last month, Radar Online published a piece claiming that Matt Damon was distancing himself from the “Armageddon” actor and doesn’t want to have anything to do with his longtime friend’s recovery. Obviously, this was a false narrative that’s been debunked by reliable publications. The “Argo” actor doesn't lack support as Jennifer Garner, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, and several close friends and families are providing the necessary assistance for Ben to get back on his feet.
Right now, Ben Affleck’s treatment routine allows him to enter and leave the center’s facility as this was the method outlined by his doctors. A source from People said that Jennifer Garner’s ex-partner is a “good mix of mental and physical work” and they’re employing this fact to help the actor recover.
As things stand, Ben Affleck seems to be doing okay, as confirmed by his brother, Casey Affleck. Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner continues to raise her three kids as their father undergoes convalescence. The “13 Going on 30” star has already said that she’s going to be by Ben’s side should the actor need help again as she doesn’t want their children growing up without a father.
