Nissin's French Cup Noodle series, launching July 22, features rich flavors inspired by French cuisine, such as Homard Bisque, Chicken Supreme Sauce Truffle, and Provencal Bouillabaisse.
Nissin Launches French-Inspired Cup Noodle Series Featuring Luxurious Flavors and Exquisite Broths
Cup Noodle, Japan's most popular and widely consumed instant ramen, is quintessentially Japanese cuisine. However, the Cup Noodle brand is fearless in blending international culinary influences, as evidenced by its innovative French Cup Noodle series. Nissin, the manufacturer, proudly presents these three flavors as a unique fusion of Japanese and French cuisines, claiming them to be “the highest-class broth in the history of Cup Noodle.”
The French Cup Noodle series, which will be officially introduced on July 22, includes Homard Bisque, Chicken Supreme Sauce Truffle, Sea Bream, and Scallop Provencal Bouillabaisse. These are not the variants sold in France; they are flavors inspired by French cuisine and specifically designed for the Japanese market.
Preparing the meal is a breeze: add boiling water, wait three minutes, stir in the additional flavor oil packet, and your meal is ready. According to SoraNews24, the Japanese-language correspondent, P.K. Sanjun, who started with the Homard Bisque, taste-tested this cross-cultural cup ramen, highlighting the ease and convenience of the process.
"Homard" is the French word for "lobster," and the fragrance of shellfish was immediately discernible upon opening the lid. The broth's aroma was complemented by its robust and rich flavor, consistent with Nissin's assertion of superior quality. The broth was so dense that it resembled a sauce, a delight for shellfish enthusiasts.
Next, the Chicken Supreme Sauce Truffle was served. P.K. discovered the broth to be creamy and dense, resembling a sauce, despite being unfamiliar with Supreme Sauce. The inclusion of truffle oil further enhanced the decadence of the dish. He observed that this flavor would be delightful during the winter, although it was still satisfying in midsummer.
Sea Bream and Scallop Bouillabaisse: Nissin's Most Delicious Cup Noodle Yet, Available July 22
Lastly, the Sea Bream and Scallop Provencal Bouillabaisse exhibited a more conventional broth consistency. Although it lacked the creamy texture of the other two, it provided a complex interplay between tangy tomato broth and seafood stock, which P.K. referred to as "the most delicious Cup Noodles in history."
From July 22, the assortment will be accessible at convenience stores and supermarkets throughout Japan for 259 yen (US$1.60)—P.K.ase likely additional Mystery Eel Cup Noodle and Bouillabaisse packages.
