Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson starred in the “Fifty Shades” movie franchise together and they appeared in all three films based on the book written by E.L. James. The movie trilogy was a huge success worldwide but it was reported that the former does not want to star in it again or in any other films that are similar to it.
This news will surely disappoint the fans but Jamie Dornan has reasons for not wanting to star in “Fifty Shades” with Dakota Johnson anymore. Then again, it should be noted that his co-star is not part of the grounds why he decided not to appear in erotic films or TV series after acting as Christian Grey.
As mentioned on EconoTimes, Jamie Dornan admitted that, although the “Fifty Shades” with Dakota Johnson had launched his acting career to new heights, there were downsides that he had to deal with and he does not like them.
Firstly, people see him as Christian Grey only and, as an actor, this is very frustrating for him. He still has many talents and he can show them through his roles in movies or dramas on TV but it seems that he is only getting more offers for erotic roles now. Although there are still good offers like the “Robin Hood,” Jamie Dornan said that he has more provocative film offers after being typecast in this genre.
“Sometimes and I struggle with that,” he said. “I might be fighting this my entire career. I hope not.”
Secondly, Jamie Dornan said that he wants to star in movies that his children could watch. Thus, he is bound to turn down an offer it will be something similar to “Fifty Shades.” In fact, he pleaded to be included in “Trolls 2: World Tour” animated film.
Lastly, while Jamie Dornan clearly stated that he wants to avoid erotic films from now on, he is very open to working for another project with Dakota Johnson. On the other hand, Dakota will not shy away from the prospect of another “Fifty Shades” with Christian Grey.
