Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are now both sought after actors, especially after becoming the faces of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades" movie series. Interestingly, their movie chemistry almost did not happen had "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke accepted the job.

Like Dornan and Johnson, Clarkson also became one of the most recognizable names in the film industry after one blockbuster project. For the British actress, it is "Game of Thrones" that just concluded last month.

In a drama actress roundtable for The Hollywood Reporter, Clarke was asked about what transpired upon receiving the offer to be Anastasia Steele. It turns out not accepting the job had something to do with her experience in “Game of Thrones.” As fans know, “Fifty Shades” had plenty of nude and sensual scenes that it ended up sparking relentless romance rumors between Dornan and Johnson.

It turned out that those kinds of scenes were also what convinced Clarke not to accept the project. “The last time that I was naked on camera on [‘Game of Thrones’] was a long time ago, and yet it is the only question that I ever get asked because I am a woman,” Clarke explained. “I did a minimal amount and I'm pigeonholed for life, so me saying yes to that, where the entire thing is about sensuality and sex and being naked and all of that stuff.”

In the end, everything seemed to fall into its right place. Clarke rejected the “Fifty Shades” project that ultimately found another very capable actress in Johnson. She teamed up with Dornan for the movie series and its total of over $1.3 billion in box office is one proof that they did excellent work.

Interestingly, after the third “Fifty Shades” movie was released, Johnson’s co-star said he would take a break from doing the same type of movies in the foreseeable future, but not because of the nude scenes. “To speak for myself, and I'll speak for Dakota as well, it's another job on another set. I probably won't ever take a job with this much attention and scrutiny and public opinion directed at it again,” Dornan said.
