Around this time last year, there were ten new chapters of “Hunter x Hunter” already released. But 2019 is already having a different story with no definite news on “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391’s release date to this day. Could this mean that fans are getting fewer new chapters in 2019?
Many fans are looking forward to getting several new chapters in 2019 most likely because Yoshihiro Togashi released the most number of new installments last year since 2011. There were a total of 20 new chapters that arrived in 2018 ending with “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 390.
Togashi closed 2018 with a thrilling installment where manga readers saw members of the Xi-Yu and Heil-Ly clans in action. “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 390 was appropriately titled “Clash” that also indicates “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391 will be a continuation of the story.
However, Togashi announced in late November 2018 through Weekly Shonen Jump that the manga series is going on another hiatus. At the time, fans speculated that the break would only last for a few months or until the first quarter of 2019. “The storyboards for the next ten chapters are already done,” the series creator wrote. “So I'll get started again soon depending on various circumstances such as my health.” Many fans took it as a sign that “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391 and nine more installments are part of the first batch of new chapters and ten more could follow in the second half of 2019.
It is important to note, though, that Togashi did not promise anything for 2019. It is also not new for the manga series to go through an entire year without a single new chapter that happened in 2015. So despite the message above, it is still best to wait for a specific and official announcement regarding the release of “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391.
No one can definitively predict when the hiatus will end, especially since Togashi’s health is the most significant factor to consider. At this rate, fans can only hope that, at least, the ten chapters he mentioned including “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391 will be released in 2019.
