“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16 will be returning this fall and is looking to tidy up several cliffhangers that the recent finale unveiled. Among them is the complicated romance unfolding between Teddy (Kim Raver), Owen (Kevin McKidd), and Koracick (Greg Germann).

With Teddy confessing to Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) that she’s still harboring strong feelings for Owen – the father of her child – “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16 appears to be setting up a huge heartbreak for Tom. In fact, the series has already have started this plot development, given that it was Owen that was with Teddy when she was delivering her daughter.

Tom, on the other hand, remained ignorant that his girlfriend is in labor and was seen happily building baby furniture for a child that isn’t his, all because he’s so in love with Teddy. It’s still unclear who Teddy will choose in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16 and showrunner Krista Vernoff appears to be on the fence on the matter too.

“I am very excited as a writer by the complexity of Teddy and Owen having that baby and having declared their love and then panning to find Tom alone in the nursery that he is building for Teddy and her baby. That's an exciting thing as a storyteller because it leaves just great material for [Grey’s Anatomy Season 16],” Vernoff told THR.

Meanwhile, Amelia seems to have moved on from Owen, and it’s looking like her budding romance with link Link (Chris Carmack) will blossom in the next installment. Of course, since Amelia told Link that she needs to work on herself first, this plot development is expected to burn slow. But major props to Amelia for being honest with Link and telling him where he stands, unlike what Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) did to the poor guy. As for the release date of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16, it’s expected to come out this September since recent installments were handled the same way.
