‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 16 Release Date, Speculations: Mer to Face Major Consequences in the Next Installment

Showrunner Krista Vernoff said that the major reason why they wanted to go down this route was to have Mer pay for the consequences of her actions. Meanwhile, the complicated romance between Teddy (Kim Raver), Owen (Kevin McKidd), and Koracick (Greg Germann) is also set to take center stage in the upcoming installment. Teddy has gotten into labor but hasn’t disclosed the news to her current boyfriend, Tom. Instead, Owen was the one who was with her when she delivered her daughter, another decision that will have serious personal consequences in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16.

What’s truly heartbreaking here is the fact that Tom is happily building baby furniture at home for a child that isn’t his all because he’s head over heels for Teddy. And looming above all these is the fate of Jackson (Jesse Williams) who vanished in the fog after a multi-car pileup occurred. Vernoff said that they’re still undecided how they’re going to handle this particular narrative as they’ll be returning to the writer’s room on June 3 to discuss this development. Regarding the release date of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16, nothing has been announced just yet, but it will likely return on September.
