‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s episode 15, titled “Civil War,” will follow Meredith as she finds herself caught in the middle of a disagreement between Alex and Nathan over a patient. Meanwhile, lead actors Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers addressed speculations of romance between their characters in a recent interview.
The synopsis for “Civil War” posted on TV Guide reads, “A grueling trauma case is complicated by hospital politics. Meanwhile, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) confronts her feelings regarding Owen (Kevin McKidd); and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) finds herself stuck in the middle as Nathan (Martin Henderson) and Alex (Justin Chambers) butt heads over a patient.”
The upcoming episode will follow April (Sarah Drew), Catherine (Debbie Allen), Jackson (Jesse Williams) and Richard (James Pickens Jr.) as they take on a stressful and arduous trauma case made worse by politics in the hospital. The work environment in Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital hasn’t exactly been a smooth one for its staff and physicians. It seems that things between the divided attending at the hospital will get even more complicated as politics heighten.
Meanwhile, Meredith will be facing problems of her own when she finds herself caught between Alex and Nathan’s disagreement over a patient. Alex was finally given the chance to return to work in Grey Sloan in the wake of his personal battles. It also seems that he may finally witness his best friend Meredith’s developing relationship with Nathan.
It was previously speculated that a possible romance may be brewing between Alex and Meredith, which actress Ellen Pompeo addressed during an interview with E! News from the set of the popular medical drama.
Pompeo said, "Justin is one of my favorite people on the planet… We're really close, and it does feel weird. To potentially maybe have him as a love interest would be like kissing my brother. I used to say that about Patrick [Dempsey] all the time too because just we'd been together for so long."
She added, "The love interest part is not my favorite piece of this, I'll be honest… Kissing guys that aren't your husband is, you know, a little weird. I guess it wouldn't be if you didn't like your husband, but I happen to be very, very fond of mine."
Meanwhile, Justin Chambers said, "I think anything is possible, but personally I find it to be weird… I think that they're very much like siblings. They've been through so much together. Personally, I don't see it. But, hey, this is Grey's Anatomy. Anything is possible."
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s episode 15, titled “Civil War,” is scheduled to air on ABC on March 9, 2017. It was directed by Nicole Rubio and written by Elizabeth J.B. Klaviter. It will be followed by episode 16, titled "Who Is He (And What Is He to You)?," directed by Kevin McKidd and scheduled to be released on March 16.
