Despite the fact that Godzilla is universally known in terms of the monster and as a movie franchise, there are still a lot of things about “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” that remains a mystery. For example, who exactly are the enemies in the movie and who is not? It would be inconceivable that Godzilla would take on all the other monsters in the film. Fortunately, it would seem that he will have his own allies.
Now, it’s worth pointing out that since this is an American adaptation of the iconic Japanese movie monster, there might be some changes to the lore. However, “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” could potentially see two or three giant creatures taking the famous kaiju’s side. Among the most likely candidates are Mothra, Rodan, and Kumonga or Spiga. It should be noted that the last monster in that lineup is still up in the air.
Viewers might also want to bear in mind that Godzilla might not be the actual “King of the Monsters” at the start of this movie. That honor might be held by King Ghidorah, which the clip below is shown to have three heads and is going toe-to-toe with Godzilla. This is expected to be the climactic fight scene in “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.”
Once Godzilla defeats King Ghidorah, only then will he become the indisputable King, but not of all monsters in every form. Although the lore can be a bit muddy in terms of consistency, there are actually multiple monster royalties in this movie universe. For example, Rodan is often referred to as the King of the Skies while Mothra is known as a queen among monsters. Both of these gigantic beasts are predicted to side with Godzilla in “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.”
Fans will likely learn more about this when the movie premieres on May 31, 2019. “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” is expected to feature six monsters, in total. However, more could be unveiled before the flick is out.
