“Five Nights at Freddy’s” will outperform both “The Exorcist: Believer” and “Saw X” in terms of financial success at the theater, box office projections suggest.
For starters, the said movie is based on the popular video game franchise. It follows single parent Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) as he accepts a security job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. He quickly discovers, however, that the spirits of murdered children inhabit the animatronics at the facility.
‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ Projected to Break Box-Office Records
Deadline reported that when “Five Nights at Freddy's” is released, it will outperform two other recent horror films: “The Exorcist: Believer” and “Saw X,” with a predicted opening weekend of up to $40 million, making it the second-best opening for the autumn 2023 box office. This would place it just second to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, which grossed $92.8 million in its debut weekend.
Due to the complexity of the “Five Nights at Freddy's” plot in the games, the movie will undoubtedly entice fans who want to see the story told in a more concise manner. It may also represent the puzzle-like riddles offered in the games, with spectators being required to think about the tale in order to discover the truth. Because the brand has been running for nine years, it will appeal to individuals of all ages who enjoy Cawthon's original work.
There is also a lot of enigma about which animatronics will appear in the film. While Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Springtrap have all been confirmed, a new "Five Nights at Freddy's" character has been promised. With the film prepared to authentically adapt the game, it has all the ingredients to become a massive horror smash.
