Netflix has confirmed that its popular Spanish adolescent drama will end its run with the forthcoming eighth and final season, ahead of its seventh season launch this Friday. Series creator Carlos Montero recently released a statement addressing the show’s impending conclusion via “Elite” Season 8, which is currently in production.
Series Creator Confirms ‘Elite’ Season 8 As Show’s Last Installment
“We are shooting the eighth season, which will be the last season of Élite. We ended on a high note. Jaime [Vaca, co-showrunner for season 7], Netflix, and I thought it was time to end it. I say this with great regret because it’s been several incredible years in which I’ve met wonderful actors, we’ve worked with all the directors we wanted to work with, and we’ve had the luxury of having Maribel these last two seasons,” Carlos said, per Deadline.
“Élite changed everyone’s life, there are actors who started with us, and it has been their springboard to be now world stars, it is happening to this cast, and it is a pride to have contributed to that and to know that they have seen us all over the world and liked it,” he added.
What Can Fans Expect From The Forthcoming ‘Elite’ Season 8?
The imminent “Elite” Season 8 will feature newbies Ane Rot and Nuno Gallego, while Mina el Hammani, who appeared in the first three installments, will reprise her role as Nadia. Ander Puig, Carmen Arrufat, lvaro de Juana, Ana Bokesa, lex Pastrana, André Lamoglia, Valentina Zenere, Carla Daz, Martina Cariddi, Adam Nourou, Manu Ros, Mirela Balic, Fernando Lndez, Gleb Abrosimov, Ivan Mendes, Alejandro Albarracin, and Maribel Verdu round out the cast.
Although no official production schedule has been released, the cast and crew are said to have begun filming “Elite” Season 8 on August 7, 2023, per ComingSoon.net. Avid followers of the show are looking at around four months of production before the new episodes begin post-production. This is how long prior seasons took to shoot. As a result, fans are likely to learn that filming will be completed in December 2023.
For starters, “Elite” is a teen drama created by Carlos Montero and Jaime Vaca that has been aired since 2018. The teen drama centers on the connections between three working-class pupils who attend the exclusive school on scholarship and their wealthier classmates. Zeta Studios is in charge of its production.
Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of “Elite” Season 8.
