Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi sold their Bali-inspired estate for $ 33.3 million, and now it was reported that they have bought a new one. It was still in the same neighborhood, but they will be close neighbors to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with their new property.

Ellen and Portia named the mystery buyers of Miller’s property

Variety reported that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi purchased Dennis Miller’s Montecito estate for a massive $49 million. In October, it was reported that the former “Saturday Night Live” host and his wife Carolyn Paley sold their vast estate on an off-market deal, and it was paid in cash.

The new owners of the property were not disclosed at that time. It turned out that the mystery buyers were Ellen and Portia. This detail was recently divulged by the Wall Street Journal. Miller and his wife lived in the mansion from 2006 until it was sold this year.

This is Ellen DeGeneres and Portia’s biggest estate and the most expensive deals in Santa Barbara County. The new property is said to resemble a small village since there are several buildings - five separate structures and vast grounds. There is also a separate pool house and barn, and the main mansion is a 9,000 square feet building featuring authentic South African Cape Dutch architectural style.

Famous royal neighbors

Now, as per Page Six, as Ellen and Portia move into their new home, they instantly became close neighbors to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The couple was a new addition to the Sussexes line of well-known neighbors such as Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who recently moved there too.

It was reported that the royal couple loves the place because it offers the privacy they were always seeking. Plus, it was a site that the former “Suits” actress fell in love with when she first visited in her teens.

"Harry absolutely hated it—the timing was so wrong amid the pandemic and they lacked privacy,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Meghan visited Montecito in her teens and fell in love with the picturesque scenery and stunning architecture.”

It was added that moving to LA was just an option, but the royal couple wants to give Monteciton a shot. At any rate, Ellen DeGeneres is known to be friends with the Sussexes, so the families will surely become closer and perhaps, spend some weekends together.
