Ellen DeGeneres is standing at another crossroad in her life right now as Portia De Rossi is advising her to walk away from “The Ellen Show.” Although the show has been extended up until the summer of 2020, the popular host is ambivalent whether she’s going to continue her gig after that.
However, Vance DeGeneres is urging his sister to stay on the show as American is in dire need of a positive beacon at the moment. And Ellen DeGeneres certainly has been the symbol for such positivity. Meanwhile, Portia De Rossi argues that her wife should explore more things and being involved in the show is suppressing the host’s other talents.
Indeed, Elle DeGeneres herself said that the reason she returned to the standup industry is her desire to showcase more of her personality. “I wanted to show all of me,” she said. “The talk show is me, but I’m also playing a character of a talk-show host. There’s a tiny, tiny bit of difference.” Portia De Rossi is in complete agreement.
“I just think she’s such a brilliant actress and standup that it doesn’t have to be this talk show for her creativity. There are other things she could tackle,” Portia De Rossi said. Ellen DeGeneres’ upcoming standup special will be available for streaming on Netflix come Dec. 18.
The talk show host said that Portia De Rossi was a huge help in finishing her special, adding that the Australian-American model provided a lot of insight on how to make her material better. Ellen DeGeneres also said she’s aware of the rumors that have been published by gossip media although she stays away from it as much as she can.
Throughout this year, the couple has been buffeted by divorce claims, adoption issues, and quarreling over Ellen Pompeo – all of which has no veracity whatsoever. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary and by the looks of things, they’ll be celebrating more of it in the future.
