Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are still going strong after being married for 10 years even though the couple has been plagued by divorce rumors through it. Here are a few false claims have been published this year.
In July, National Enquirer wrote that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi had a quarrel involving “Grey’s Anatomy” headliner Ellen Pompeo. The tabloid claimed that the fight was caused by DeGeneres giving Pompeo “too much attention” during De Rossi’s launch party.
But the claim was quickly debunked by reliable publications, citing the relationship of Ellen DeGeneres and Ellen Pompeo as strictly platonic. There was also a lot of evidence posted on social media that DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi had a great time during the event.
In the same month, Globe also published an article saying that Ellen DeGeneres got into a spat with Portia De Rossi when the couple couldn’t agree about adoption issues. The publication purported that the talk show host wanted to adopt a child while De Rossi was refusing to become a parent.
The tabloid added that Portia De Rossi aired her grievances to their friends as Ellen DeGeneres simply ignored her wife after their confrontation. Of course, Globe’s piece was proven to be a false narrative as the couple celebrated their 10th anniversary a month later.
Divorce rumors also surfaced back in August when Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi decided to sell their Montecito estate for $34 million. That claim has also been disproven and it turns out that the pair has merely tried their hands at flipping houses.
What’s true about this power couple is that their love hasn’t waned after being married for a decade. When Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi celebrated their 10th anniversary on Aug. 16, The Ellen Show released a video commemorating the day that they tie the knot.
