“Elite” season 4 is on its way and this is absolutely something to be happy about since the third season was just released on March 13. After Netflix dropped all eight episodes on the said date, fans can’t wait for the next chapter so find out what will happen in Las Encinas after Polo died.
Series renewal and filming
As per Express, prior to the release of the third installment, “Elite” season 4 was already renewed and this was initially reported by Bluper and Formula TV Spanish publications. The news first came out as early as January and the articles even mentioned when its filming will begin.
It was added that the teen drama series was not just renewed for one but two seasons which means season 5 was also greenlighted by Netflix. Filming for the next two seasons is said to have been scheduled to commence in spring.
The staff and cast members will be filming all 16 episodes consecutively. Thus, a back to back shooting is currently in order for everyone involved in the drama.
Cast - Who will return and who will leave
When it was confirmed that “Elite” season 4 has been renewed, rumors about the change of the entire cast spread. Someone also tweeted on March 13 that the upcoming installment will present new faces though there could be cast members who may still return.
If there are characters who will stay, they are probably Guzman, Samuel and Rebecca because they are all repeating a year. Cayetana also has a chance of returning because her role changed in the finale as she became one of the school’s cleaner due to her situation. The rest many not return anymore after the graduation and in the case of Polo, he died at the finale of the third season.
Plot and release date
Since most of the cast are set to leave, it is likely that the direction of the story will also change completely. This means that Netflix will be moving on to a new story plot and leave what transpired in the first three seasons.
In any case, with an entirely new set of characters, the story is still unknown but “Elite” season 4 may offer fresh stories although the setting could still be in Las Encinas. Pop Culture Times suggested that “Elite” season 4 may arrive in mid-2021 since the filming is ongoing right now.
