After a breakthrough in understanding the mechanism of Medusa, Senku’s group is moving closer to the source of the Petrification Beam in “Dr. Stone” chapter 178. While they will be having some fun moments through their journey, danger also lurks in their surroundings.
‘Dr. Stone’ chapter 178 spoilers: Kingdom of Science moves closer to their destination
A leaked copy of the full “Dr. Stone” chapter 178 shows the Kingdom of Science’s journey will be the focus of the upcoming installment. The group has been in South America after Xeno and Senku narrowed down that the source of the Petrification Beam was very likely located in the continent.
They have also identified the closest approximation of the Petri-Beam site, however, getting there is not easy since the available modes of transportation are very limited. The Kingdom of Science will have to endure dangerous terrains and harsh weather conditions as shown in the “Dr. Stone” chapter 178 panels. These factors will only make their travel even more challenging.
At one point in “Dr. Stone” chapter 178, Senku and his affiliates have to get their body weight measured since they have to weigh around 200kg for the motorbike they will use to function properly. Luna hopes she gets the chance to ride with Senku, but the leaks suggest she is not that lucky.
The terrain and weather challenges might also be combined with the threat the Stanley poses. It appears that Stanley’s group is able to fix the aircraft after following instructions from Brody in chapter 177. But this does not seem to bother Senku, and Stanley is not making any moves to attach, at least in “Dr. Stone” chapter 178. The chapter ends with him looking very excited while riding a cable car with Kaseki.
‘Dr. Stone’ chapter 178 release date, where to read
“Dr. Stone” chapter 178 will also pick up from Joel’s successful analysis of the Medusa. He was able to determine that the Petrifiction Device’s energy source is blackened diamond and he was able to fix the one Nikki gave him.
Fans should take the spoilers mentioned above with a grain of salt. The official English translation of “Dr. Stone” chapter 178 will not be released until Sunday, Dec. 13. New chapters are published for free online through Manga Plus and Viz Media.
