There are still some fans insistent on waiting for “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 instead of continuing the story by reading the manga. When it comes to this matter, it often goes down to each fan’s personal preferences.

With “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2’s renewal still uncertain, avid TV fans might want to consider picking up the manga volumes because they are already missing out on the massive progress that Natsuo, Rui, and Hina have gone through.

‘Domestic Girlfriend’ season 2: Is it happening?

The year is ending in a week, but Kodansha and Diomedea are still silent on their plans, or the lack thereof, for the anime adaptation of “Domestic na Kanojo” by writer and illustrator Kei Sasuga. But with no definite announcement on the show’s discontinuation either, some anime fans might not consider giving up on “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 anytime soon.

Since the first season concluded last spring, many fans familiar with the manga series are more in favor of Kodansha not giving the green light for “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2. Many were complaining about the pacing of the story after skipping several important parts of the story compared to the manga.

Others have also been insistent that the first 12 episodes were only meant to introduce the manga series to a broader audience, giving less hope for “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 to be produced. It is also interesting that Kodansha and Diomedea have not even announced a Blu-ray/DVD release for the anime adaptation more than eight months since the finale.

‘Domestic Girlfriend’ manga updates: Natsuo goes back to writing novels with Hina on his side

As mentioned, so much has happened since the season 1 finale. Natsuo continued his path to becoming a renowned novelist while Rui goes after her ambition of being a chef. With Hina’s absence, the Natsuo and Rui become closer and have already become a couple in the manga.

Though they eventually broke up, it was less miserable than when Hina was forced to leave Natsuo. He experienced a prolonged writer’s block that convinced Rui to temporarily end their relationship.

Meanwhile, the latest chapters dealt with the passing of Natsuo’s mentor, Togen, and Hina has been beside him through it all. In the latest manga installment, “Domestic Girlfriend,” chapter 256, Natsuo finally overcomes his writer’s block inspired to continue his sensei’s legacy while Hina is outside the room crying out of joy for his brother.
