Abby Lee Miller, the always hotheaded choreographer of the dance reality show “Dance Moms” is exiting the series after seven seasons. In an Instagram post, Miller explained her feelings about her working on the show, and blames officials behind the network for treating her “like dirt,” PEOPLE.com reported.
“I WILL NO LONGER TAKE PART IN DANCE MOMS. FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS/SEVEN SEASONS I HAVE ASKED, BEGGED, AND EVEN DEMANDED CREATIVE CREDIT FOR ALL THE IDEAS, AWARD WINNING ROUTINES, THEMES AND COSTUMING – TO NO AVAIL!,” she wrote in her lengthy post.
Cheryl Burke of “Dancing With the Stars” fame, will be the show’s new choreographer.
Miller believes that Burke would be a great addition to the show. She told Entertainment Tonight, "I think that's great. I only met her once at a housewarming party a couple weeks ago. I'm glad that someone who has worked on a network show for as long as she has on “Dancing With the Stars” is going to see what I've been working with for seven years."
On the other hand, she did not mince words about her former employers. Miller recounts one instance wherein the network and the production company behind the show had embarrassed her in front of over 50 of her students.
"Lifetime and Collins Avenue [Productions] and everybody they employ has zero respect for me, zero respect for my business," she said to E! while visibly emotional.
She also claimed that Burke might not have the same treatment, adding, "I think they will treat her differently. I think everybody will be on their toes. I think that Lifetime will pour a ton of money into advertising because they want to prove that I was nothing and I was nobody and they saved me."
