Cutter Associates, the provider of operations and technology research services, has announced that it has completed its members-only spring research meetings in New York, London, and Boston that attracted over 300 senior investment technology and operations professionals from more than 100 investment management firms.
The spring research provided insights into Performance Measurement and Attribution, Market Data Administration, and Cloud Computing. These topics were driven by the members themselves. In addition, representatives from State Street’s Emerging Technology Center came to the Boston meeting to discuss blockchain – the technology that has become the most talked about topic in the FinTech industry.
“Our growing membership drives the topics on our research calendar, and these topics were front of mind for them,” noted Mary Storrs, Head of CutterResearch. “Members were enthusiastic about the presentations, which provoked great discussions during the networking breaks.”
Attendees had the opportunity to see product demonstrations from 24 exhibiting vendors, as well as to participate in lively discussions with expert panelists on experiences and challenges related to the research topics.
“This was a positive experience. Hearing directly from the research analysts and having the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers and industry participants was extremely beneficial and provided valuable insights across a broad range of topics”, said Gordon McKellar, COO of Future Fund.
Cutter Associates hosts meetings twice yearly in each location to showcase their latest research on trends and technologies impacting the investment management business. The next round of member meetings will be held in October and November, and the topics on the agenda include Managing Fintech, Mastering Client/Account/Product Data, and Risk Management Systems.
