Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has applied to provide futures and derivatives trading with the National Futures Association (NFA) to broaden its offerings, it announced on Twitter.
The exchange says it aims to “further grow the crypto economy” with its new offerings.
Major cryptocurrency exchanges that offer derivatives trading, include Binance, Okex, FTX, CME Group, and Kraken.
Coinbase earlier acquired crypto data analytics firm Skew, which specializes in tracking the derivatives market.
Coinbase is issuing $2 billion worth of bonds to raise funds for general corporate purposes, which may be for investing in product development and in acquisitions of other companies, products, or technologies.
