Chris Paul has been one of the biggest and surprising trade this offseason after the Houston Rockets decided to send him to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Russell Westbrook. Now, Paul is trying to move forward and has reportedly listed his Houston house for $8.3 million.
It’s unclear how much Chris Paul paid for the sprawling residence in the first place, but it was listed at $6.9 million when the NBA superstar acquired it. The house has been described as “picturesque modernism partnered with Old World Mediterranean.”
Meanwhile, Chris Paul’s fate with the OKC still remains uncertain. The team is currently in its rebuilding phase, so the veteran isn’t expected to last long with the team.
Chris Paul’s stay with OKC remains unclear
It’s unclear, however, when OKC is planning to use Chris Paul as a massive trade asset. The earliest timeline would be December since the Thunder could include him in trade packages that would accelerate the aforementioned rebuilding process.
But there’s also the possibility that Chris Paul would stay with OKC until the conclusion of 2019-2020 season, so December isn’t set in stone just yet. At 34 years old, there are numerous teams that would undoubtedly assemble a trade package to acquire Paul given that he’s one of the purest point guards in the league.
He can make plays for his teammates, create opportunities for himself, and drain a shot beyond the arc on a pretty consistent basis. But this isn’t to say that Chris Paul doesn’t have problems. He certainly has a few, the most concerning of which is his health.
Chris Paul parting ways with Rockets was due to James Harden’s playstyle
During his tenure with the Rockets, Chris Paul has been plagued by numerous injuries. Indeed, the Rockets would’ve eliminated the Warriors in the 2018 Playoffs if not for Paul injuring his hamstring.
As for why Chris Paul parted ways with the Rockets, reports are claiming that it mostly stems from poor chemistry. Specifically, his partnership with James Harden. A source told Yahoo Sports that there’s no respect between both stars. Paul is apparently fed up with Harden’s ball-dominant plays that’s why he demanded a trade from general manager Daryl Morey. In any case, the veteran isn’t expected to create a lot of impact for the OKC as the team would undoubtedly take care of him to avoid another injury that would lessen his value in the market.
