Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pine were said to be the reason why there will be no more “Star Trek 4.” It was alleged that since the two actors have decided not to star in the movie, it got into trouble so it was just canceled altogether.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Hemsworth and Pine were tapped to be in “Star Trek 4” and were already in the process of negotiation. However, the deal did not yield good results and it has fallen apart instead.
Chris Pine was supposed to play as Captain Kirk while Chris Hemsworth would have taken the role as his father but both actors walked away from the chance. So, what’s the reason for the failed deal?
It was said that it was the pay. They pointed to money as the main reason why Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth did not accept their roles in “Star Trek 4.”
This story was picked up by Star, and Gossip Cop is debunking this story. It stated that the report lacks accuracy, and although the actors are really having disputes with Paramount Pictures, their failure to be included in the cast of “Star Trek 4” was not the reason for its cancelation – if it is indeed not pushing through anymore.
“The movie could be canceled altogether due to the salary conflict,” a so-called source told Star. “Everything is grinding to a halt while they sort it out,” added a questionable source.
Gossip Cop pointed out that the team behind “Star Trek 4” told THR that whether Hemsworth or Pine are starring in the film or not, their main priority is the movie’s development and affirmed that it is not being put on hold. Finally, with this statement, it is clear that “Star Trek 4” is not canceled, so this rumor is clearly false.
