The schedules for the early access and open beta of “Call of Duty: Vanguard” are set. While it will be available on all platforms, PlayStation players are getting more chances to try the game before it launches.
‘Call of Duty: Vanguard’ early access and open beta schedule
First, it should be noted that there will be an “early access” and the actual “open beta” on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Access to the former will require pre-ordering the game, which is available in Digital Standard Edition at $59.99, Digital Cross-Gen Bundle at $69.99, and Digital Ultimate Edition at $99.99.
The very first “Call of Duty: Vanguard” early access beta will be available exclusively on PlayStation. It will start on Friday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. PT through Monday, Sept. 13. Fans who have pre-ordered the game on PlayStation can now pre-load the game’s beta version through this page.
Crossplay beta will go live on the second weekend of the “Call of Duty: Vanguard” open beta. From Thursday, Sept. 16 to Friday, Sept. 17, Xbox and PC players with early access perks can join the test. These dates will serve as the start of the open beta on PlayStation, so PS4 and PS5 players who have yet to pre-order the game can already participate in these dates.
Lastly, Activision will let all fans on all supported platforms try “Call of Duty: Vanguard” without ordering the game. This open-for-all trial will be available from Saturday, Sept. 18 to Monday, Sept. 20.
‘Call of Duty: Vanguard’ beta content: What modes and maps to expect
There will be four game modes going live during these “Call of Duty: Vanguard” beta test schedules, including the new mode called Patrol. Classic game modes Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed will also unlock throughout the open beta weekends.
Five gameplay maps will be available during the two-weekend open beta. Hotel Royal (based on Liberation of Paris in August 1944), Gavutu (set in Japan’s Gavutu Island in August 1942), and Red Star (covers the Battle of Stalingrad) will be playable throughout the test periods. These three maps will be available to test in all game modes, while the Champion Hill map will feature its own arena. Lastly, the top-secret location called Eagle’s Nest will only unlock during the second weekend. “Call of Duty: Vanguard” will be released on Friday, Nov. 5.
