CICERO, Ill., July 31, 2017 -- Broadwind Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:BWEN) today announced that Jason L. Bonfigt, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, effective August 7. Bonfigt, 39, currently serves as the Company’s Vice President and Corporate Controller. Stephanie K. Kushner, who has held both CFO and CEO roles since May of 2016, will remain President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
Broadwind CEO Stephanie Kushner stated, “During his tenure, Jason has made a strong contribution at Broadwind. Jason’s leadership has been instrumental in upgrading the financial analysis throughout the Company, and helping drive improved operational performance. I am looking forward to transitioning him into this new role. This organizational change will allow me to shift my focus to a broader range of commercial and strategic matters.”
Bonfigt joined Broadwind in 2008 as Controller and then General Manager of the Company’s Badger Transport subsidiary, which was divested in 2011. He has since held a number of finance roles, both in the Corporate Office and in the Gearing business unit. He was named Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer in August of 2016. Prior to joining Broadwind, Bonfigt held a series of finance positions at Schneider National, a Wisconsin-based trucking and logistics company. Jason, a CPA, has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
