“Boruto's” last episode introduced a deeper understanding of Metal Lee's condition by allowing him to get over his anxiety to finish his training in mastering the Taijutsu technique. While a quick story arc for one of “Boruto's” side characters, the episode reintroduced an old “Naruto” fan favorite in Might Guy, who helped inspire Metal Lee to strive harder by realizing how the veteran shinobi was able to overcome his own physical limitations.

“Boruto” episode 71 looks to be reintroducing another old character that fans of the original “Naruto” may be familiar with. In the show's official preview, fans are shown that Onoki, the third Tsuchikage of Iwagakure, will be appearing to cause confusion amongst Boruto and his crew. Onoki played a major role in the Fourth Ninja War.

Onoki led the Long-Range Battle Division and eventually the other Kage during the Fourth Ninja War against Madara. He inspired his comrades to face Madara without fear, even trying to stop the legendary leader of the Uchiha clan from chasing after Naruto and his companions.

From the preview summary, it looks like Onoki is supposed to attend the five Kage summit in Leaf Village, being headed by Boruto's father, Naruto. But the episode's complication comes in with Onoki blowing off attending the summit and asking the young ninjas to show him a good time. With “Boruto” episode 71 being titled “The Hardest Stone in the Whole World,” fans can expect Onoki to open up about his past and teach the youngsters a thing or two about being an old shinobi.

Fans looking forward to seeing how Onoki will influence the “Boruto” team in his own way can catch the show on Crunchyroll. “Boruto” episodes will now air weekly on Thursdays due to a recent broadcast timeslot change for the show. Fans can catch “Boruto” episode 71 when it airs on Aug. 30.
