CBS's previous preview for “Blue Bloods” season 9 and its season premiere episode showed Jamie (Will Estes) and Frank (Tom Selleck) Reagan getting into a debate about Jamie and Eddie's (Vanessa Ray) decision to continue working together despite being engaged. While Frank disagrees with Jamie and Eddie about their decision, it looks like “Blue Bloods” season 9's premiere episode is looking to let Frank figure out how to understand Jamie and Eddie's decision on his own.
In the new “Blue Bloods” season 9 sneak peek video, fans are treated to a scene with Frank Reagan talking to some of his staff. In his signature fatherly voice, the police commissioner opens up with the news of Jamie and Eddie getting engaged, which the staff congratulates him on.
The scene shows that Frank has accepted the fact that the policy about police who are in relationships don't ride together is more of an unwritten rule than an actual regulation that can be enforced. It is nice to see Frank taking the time to ask his colleagues about their thoughts rather than jumping the gun and splitting up Jamie and Eddie in their professional lives. And it is not only Frank who is reconsidering his position in the issue in “Blue Bloods” season 9's premiere episode.
Eddie may be rethinking the Jamco couple's decision as well in another sneak peek clip from “Blue Bloods” season 9 and its premiere episode. In the "Blue Bloods" season 9 preview clip, Jamie and Eddie are most likely heading home after dinner with the family with Jamie still furious about Frank not being onboard with their decision. Eddie then tells Jamie that they should probably consider what Frank is recommending. While Jamie initially relents, Eddie emphasizes that riding together is not as important as being together.
Fans of the show looking forward to seeing how Frank, Jamie, and Eddie can finally resolve their difference of opinion can catch “Blue Bloods” season 9 when it airs its season premiere episode today, Sept. 28.
