It’s fourth months into 2019 and there’s still no word from CBS what they're planning for “Blue Bloods” Season 10. But going by several clues about the police procedural, it’s likely that the network will greenlight the tenth installment, CheatSheet reported.
The first hint that “Blue Bloods” Season 10 will be happening is the plot. Right now, the current season has been building the nuptials of Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie (Vanessa Ray). While the wedding has yet to take place, a lot of details about the event has already been ironed out.
The couple has already chosen a venue and Eddie has picked out the perfect dress. The question is will showrunners delay the wedding for “Blue Bloods” Season 10? That’s a possibility, especially if the showrunners have some massive plot twist they’ve been keeping all this time that would sidetrack the wedding.
The second clue is the ratings. While the drama has seen a declining viewership over the course of its run, it’s still one of CBS’ most popular series. The only shows of the network that is outshining the series are “Salvation,” “NCIS,” and “Criminal Minds.” It would be ill-advised for CBS not to order “Blue Bloods” Season 10, especially since the series has gained quite the following among real-life cops.
Lastly is the stars’ contracts. While the cast of the series has yet to sign on the dotted line for “Blue Bloods” Season 10, Tom Selleck previously said that this isn’t an unusual occurrence.
“Typically, most cast members sign contracts for six or seven years upon joining a show, and then after that, they tend to negotiate on an annual or semi-annual basis. A lot of it depends on each actor’s desire to continue the show, the monetary value of the contract, studio demands, or other factors,” Selleck explained. As for when “Blue Bloods” Season 10 will air, it’s being speculated that it will come out this September since all the previous installments came out on this month.
