Decentral has announced that its upcoming Blockchain World Expo has expanded its horizon to include the fintech sector.
Now called Fintech and Blockchain World Expo 2016, the landmark event has TMX Group as the Title Sponsor and Deloitte as the Platinum Sponsor. With this year’s theme as "Understanding the Opportunities and Challenges of Fintech and Blockchain", the event will focus on advances in financial technology, and puts the spotlight on Canada as a global hub for innovation.
"With a stellar list of exhibitors, partners and speakers, the Expo is shaping up to be the year's most exciting showcase for fintech and blockchain innovation, two industries that have the capacity to transform our lives in the coming years”, Decentral CEO and TMX Group Chief Digital Officer Anthony Di Iorio said.
The Expo will feature dozens of exhibitors and over 40 speakers from around the world. The event will be held in Toronto at the Sheraton Centre on September 19-21, 2016. It will feature sessions and panels on a wide range of topics, including online banking, payments and remittances, wallets and personal finance, security, identity management, crowdfunding, big data, DAOs, and capital markets, to name a few. A first-of-its-kind trade show, the event will also showcase product demonstrations from leading-edge startups.
Keynote speakers will include Jeff Garzik, Cofounder of Bloq, Anthony Di Iorio, President and CEO of Decentral, and William Mougayar, author of ‘The Business Blockchain’ (2016), along with other highly regarded innovators.
The event is being organized by Decentral and Accelerate Finance. In addition, the Chamber of Digital Commerce and DigitalFutures have also joined as hosts for the three day conference.
