On February 1st, Beyonce announced to the world that she is pregnant with twins with husband, rapper Jay-Z. The 35 year-old musical icon shared to the world their great news via a gorgeous Instagram post, of which has now claimed the top spot as the most-liked photo on Instagram, CNET revealed. To put things in perspective, that spot was held for so long by Selena Gomez, at 6,954,225 likes (and counting) against 6,315,187 likes.
"We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters," the post read.
But one can help but think if Beyonce’s announcement is a lucky PR stunt for her to promote new music. A day after the announcement, a visual showcase of her the “Formation” singer and her growing belly was published on her official website. People noted that there were several photos of her in various themes and poses, and even a few with her first born, Blue Ivy. There were also underwater shots of her with yellow and burgundy fabric twisting about, which could be a feat if you are well over the first trimester. And lastly, Beyonce shared a poem written by Somali-British poet Warsan Shire, with whom she collaborated for her last album, “Lemonade.”
There’s no word from the singer’s camp about new music, but she is expected to deliver on her scheduled performances this first quarter. Producers are confident that Beyonce will headline as expected at this year’s Coachella, TMZ reported. Ken Ehrlich confirmed to BIllboard that Beyonce will also attend the 2017 Grammys following her 9 nominations. It was also rumored that she might do a joint performance with Brit powerhouse Adele.
