BTS proved that they are not just Kpop superstars from South Korea but a band that can beat some international singers. The group recently took home three awards during the 2019 American Music Awards ceremony that was held on Nov. 25 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
AMA recognized BTS
BTS was compared again to The Beatles as they are the only other group to have three no. 1 albums in less than a year. And now at this year’s AMAs, the won the top prize after beating the Jonas Brothers and Panic! At the Disco For the best pop or rock group.
However, the group consisting of RM, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Jungkook, V and Suga, is not able to personally receive their award, but they released a video to thank their fans for their support and making the award happen. The group promised to see the fans soon as they are working hard so they can meet again on stage.
“BTS has been a group for six and half years, and throughout those years, so many of our dreams somehow manifest into reality,” RM said in his speech. “And ARMY, you guys are the ones who make all of this possible. We really couldn’t have done it without your love and support from all over the world.”
Other awards from the 2019 AMA
In any case, BTS also won the Best Tour Award, where they beat Ariana Grande, Pink, and Elton John. They also won the Best Social Artist award which is somehow obvious for they are always trending on social media,
E! News reported that BTS vowed to work harder and present better performances in the future after their big win at the 2019 AMA. Their triple win is a big booster after they failed to win a Grammy award this year.
Meanwhile, despite BTS’ excellent accomplishments and glory it gave to South Korea, it was said that the members would not be exempted from serving the army. The South Korean government made it clear last week that regardless of their achievements, the seven members are required to serve their country just like the other normal male citizens.
