BTS V was one of the celebrities who was featured in the “Dear Class of 2020,” and it is trending because he congratulated this year’s graduates in an unusual but touching way. The event is a special virtual commencement where inspirational personalities give congratulatory messages as students celebrate graduation with their families and communities.

The rest of the BTS members that include RM, Jungkook, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, and Suga also delivered their message, but most of the ARMYs were so moved with V’s speech. This is because he included the sign language for the hearing-impaired graduates.

The “Dear Class of 2020” lineup

The members of BTS were the only Korean celebrities who took part in this event for the graduating students. Those who were featured in the virtual commencement include Barack and Michelle Obama, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, Sundar Pichai, Google CEO and more.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, there were also collaborative performances for the students and tribute to teachers. Some of the presentations include renditions of Maya Angelou’s "Still I Rise" and Shawn Mendes’ "Nothing Holding Me Back."

BTS V’s speech and kind gesture

Apparently, this was held since the students could not graduate in the normal way they should. They could not go on stage to personally receive their diplomas and awards because of the coronavirus pandemic that is currently affecting the whole world.

BTS V and his co-members recorded their speeches at the National Museum of Korea, and this was delivered on June 7. Star News reported that fans praised the 24-year-old for including a sign language even if it was short.

He congratulated the graduating class of 2020 and encouraged them to follow their dreams and work hard to achieve it. He added that he is not naturally talented in singing and dancing, but he learned how and exerted a lot of effort so he can succeed.

"I'd like to congratulate all of you who are graduating on this very special day,” Elle quoted Kim Taehyung as saying in his speech. "If there is anyone out there who cannot see where they should go from here forth, I urge you to listen to your heart. Things may feel a little difficult right now, but somewhere out there, luck and opportunity are waiting for you and I believe that.”

BTS V ended his speech by clapping using the sign language. It was said that it was a gesture for cheering someone up. This proved to be true as it was mentioned that there is a fan who shared that her brother who has autism felt really happy with the BTS member’s sign.
