The allied forces, including former friends of Eren, had hopes that he would be open to negotiations to stop the Rumbling. However, Eren appears in “Attack on Titan” chapter 133 only to let them know that the only way to end it is by killing him.
‘Attack on Titan’ chapter 133 spoilers: Eren rejects diplomacy
Armin and the other warriors are on board the flying boat that Hange acquired before she died. On their way to Fort Salta, they are brainstorming ways on how to stop Eren, including decimating the Founding Titan with the Colossus Titan. While Armin agrees to that plan, he only wants to execute if a negotiation with Eren is unsuccessful, and that is exactly what happens in the first half of “Attack on Titan” chapter 133.
Eren summons the Eldians on board the flying boat to the Paths. Armin and the other Eldians try to convince Eren to stop his plans by taking accountability, saying they all are guilty of the same sins. Eren later appears in his juvenile form standing beside Ymir Fritz.
In “Attack on Titan” chapter 133, Eren makes it clear that there is no convincing him to stop the Rumbling. He is resolved in not taking any chance at protecting Paradis and that he will exercise his freedom in doing so. In return, he tells his old friends he will also not stop them from exercising their freedom in doing what they think is right, but that would result in their endless conflict. He then concludes that the only way to stop him is by killing him.
