Athletes Unlimited raised US$30 million in a new funding round led by Schusterman Family Investments that included investment from Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman’s 35 Ventures.
A network of professional women’s sports leagues, Athletes Unlimited features softball, indoor volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse.
Each of the organization's leagues has a player executive committee that gives players a voice in all league-related decisions.
Athletes Unlimited and ESPN agreed to a multi-year broadcast rights agreement in April. As a result, ESPN will broadcast more than 160 softball and lacrosse games on its platforms in 2022 and 2023.
Nike, Gatorade, Geico, Topps, Caesars, Sportradar, EY, and Aspiration are among Athletes Unlimited's partners.
