With the “Wrath of the Druids” released for a few weeks now, avid players of “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla” may be looking for more information on the game’s next expansion. Luckily, new details about the “Siege of Paris” content were recently revealed by a reliable leaker suggesting that the plot will move forward by several years from the events of the base game and the first expansion.
The new “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – Siege of Paris” information comes from YouTube content creator J0nathan, who has been a reliable source of information about the game. In a new video, the tipster shared details from the game files, including the supposed synopsis of the next expansion.
In a translation provided by Reddit user FrenchGuyDt, the “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – Siege of Paris” description reportedly states that expansion will open with the unification of the Kingdom of Francia under a single ruler, Charlemagne’s great-grandson Charles the Fat, for the first time a hundred years. He incites war against the Norse in Francia and plans to expand his attacks in England. With this threat, players will find Ravensthorpe needing as many allies as they can get to face the impending war. The leaked “Siege of Paris” synopsis also hints at a visitor docking at Ravensthorpe to start a new adventure.
Another interesting detail from the leak is that the events of “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – Siege of Paris” will take place in 885. In real-life historical context, Charles the Fat’s rule started in 881 through 887. However, it is worth noting that the base game and the events of “Wrath of the Druids” are set in 877. This means the next expansion will feature a timeskip of several years, so it should be interesting if Ubisoft will introduce changes in the characters and other aspects of the gameplay due to the time gap.
There is bad news for players looking forward to finding the Hidden Ones, though, as the source hints they will not be visible in the expansion, just like in the base game and previously released DLC. One of the leaked dialogue reportedly reads, “Just as they were in England, the Hidden Ones seem absent in Francia. What treasures could they have left behind?”
As for the “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – Siege of Paris” launch, the source reportedly found a PlayStation Store release date listed as Nov. 9, 2021. However, well-known streamer JorRaptor explained in a YouTube comment that it is likely just a placeholder. It is the latest date possible to release a DLC as it marks the game’s first anniversary. J0nathan agreed with this and noted that Ubisoft previously said the expansion is slated for a summer 2021 release.
