‘Arrow’ season 5’s episode 15, titled “Fighting Fire With Fire,” will feature a dangerous showdown between Oliver and the Vigilante. Prometheus is set to make things even more complicated.
The synopsis for "Fighting Fire with Fire" posted on TV Guide reads, “Oliver (Stephen Amell) faces his biggest challenge yet as mayor when Vigilante attacks him; Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) continues down her dark path with Helix; Diggle (David Ramsey) leads the team in a mission to stop Vigilante once and for all.”
The upcoming episode is set to feature one of the biggest battles between Team Arrow and the villain Vigilante ever since the latter decided to take on crime in his own way, regardless of the consequences. Adrian Chase a.k.a. Vigilante (Josh Segarra) was the district attorney of Star City.
He and Oliver Queen a.k.a. Green Arrow shared an interesting past. They met when Oliver successfully tried to pick up his girlfriend.
It seems that the two will go head to head in the new episode. Vigilante has developed to be one of the Team Arrow’s most violent adversaries on the show but it remains unknown whether he will be an actual antagonist. Perhaps Vigilante will have a good reason for attacking Oliver, the current mayor of Star City.
The promo for episode 5 opens with Oliver saying, “If we lose this office, then Prometheus wins.” In the next scene, Vigilante is heard saying, “My target’s the mayor and his corruption!” According to Cartermatt, Vigilante may be put off by the cover-up done of Detective Billy Malone’s (Tyler Ritter) death in favor of the Green Arrow’s safety. The previous episode revealed that it was Oliver who instructed Adrian for the task.
It seems that Vigilante will do everything in his power to get this message through the mayor as well as the residents of Star City. Oliver, on the other hand, seems ready to take on the challenge.
To make things more complicated, Prometheus will attempt to stop Vigilante from going through his mission for the sole purpose of the privilege of killing off Oliver for good. Perhaps Prometheus and Vigilante will end up fighting it out instead.
‘Arrow’ season 5’s episode 15, titled “Fighting Fire With Fire,” is scheduled to air on March 1, 2017 on The CW. It was directed by Michael Schultz and written by Speed Weed and Ben Sokolowski. It will be followed by episode 6, titled "Checkmate," directed by Ken Shane and directed by March 15.
