As the premiere date of “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 draws to a close, more and more information is being pumped out by TNT to promote the upcoming entry. The latest of this is the inclusion of Jon Beavers and Grant Harvey in the fourth installment who will be recurring their roles as Jake and Colin respectively.
Both characters have been described as career criminals who are operating on the coast of California. It’s unclear whether or not “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 will have both men join Smurf’s (Ellen Barkin) crew or become their rivals. Jake has been described as an easy-going felon, while Colin is the polar opposite who is prone to outburst as an emotionally damaged veteran, Deadline reported.
Another speculation surrounding the two characters is their possibility of being part of Smurf’s crew back in the day. While this isn’t confirmed information yet, “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 could employ flashbacks in its plotline to explore the background of the Cody matriarch. Evidence supporting this rumor is the casting of “Mortal Engine” star Leila George who will be playing a character named Janine. Below is the description of the said character.
“A street savvy, scrappy survivor. Janine is a nihilist who doesn’t expect to live past 30. She runs with a small crew of men a few years older than her, vets and surfers who steal to support their vagabond life on the road. She realizes very quickly that they are the ones who should be proving themselves to her.” If “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 will use flashbacks, then audiences should expect to meet Smurf’s husband as well.
It goes without saying that this will be an exciting story to follow as exploring the younger life of Smurf will provide information as to how exactly she ended building her career as a criminal. Regarding the release date of “Animal Kingdom” Season 4, TNT hasn’t announced anything yet. However, speculations are pointing out that it will drop sometime between May and July.
