AmorePacific Corp. debuts its new Tonework makeup brand that has been created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. It can personalize makeup according to the customers’ faces and can offer hundreds of options for face foundations and more.
As per The Korea Economic Daily, AmorePacific’s Tonework can analyze the tone of the face based on AI algorithms with perfect accuracy. The science-powered bespoke makeup brand will then use a robotic system to create personalized liquid and cushion foundation products.
The makeup product surely gives emphasis on individuality thus, the final result is different for everyone. The device will offer a number of optimized color recommendations after it performs facial recognition and proceed with its color science research.
Each customer’s facial tone is analyzed by AI algorithms then it will suggest about 600 options for cushion foundations. While this device was already revealed at the recent Consumer Electronics Show, AmorePacific Corp. only officially launched Tonework on Tuesday this week.
In fact, the innovative makeup device garnered an Innovation Award under the robotics category at CES 2023. For the award, Park Young Ho, AmorePacific’s head of R&I Center, said in a statement at that time, “Being the recipient of the CES Innovation Award for four years in a row is the outcome of the persistent R&D efforts that go into developing tailored technologies for our customers. We will continue to devote ourselves to offering our global customers the best and the most products.”
At any rate, AmorePacific’s Tonework is the first-ever customized cosmetics brand, and it also earned a vegan certification from the Korea Agency of Vegan Certification and Services. In addition, the product also uses sustainable packaging made of recycled plastics and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified paper.
Meanwhile, customers of AmorePacific can already avail of any of the two types of products under its new Tonework personalized makeup brand. They can choose between the Tonework Vegan 150+ Foundation and the Tonework Vegan 150+ Foundation To Go, which is a cushion type of foundation.
