Following the success of its twenty-first installment, ABC has confirmed that “American Idol” Season 22 will soon hit the small screens. The American singing competition television series, created by Simon Fuller, will surely return with a brand new set of talented singers. As fans await more details, here is everything we know so far the upcoming “American Idol” Season 22.

American Idol’ Season 22 Release Date

ABC has not yet announced the official release date of “American Idol” Season 22. However, reports suggested that the imminent installment will likely premiere sometime in early 2024.

The network announced in July 2023 that the show had been renewed for another season and that auditions had already started. Alongside the announcement, Parade interviewed Luke Bryan, in which he discussed the show briefly and encouraged potential contenders to audition.

"I think the beauty of American Idol is it’s very, very driven by the talent of the kids. It’s very important for the producers of the show and the people behind the scenes and the kids all across the country to really log on and audition and get in front of us,” Luke, who is expected to return as a judge in “American Idol” Season 22, told the entertainment news publication.

“With Idol, we’ve tried to do new, fun things. I think we’ve always grown, putting new little twists on the show. The judges’ song challenge wasn’t in the show a couple of years ago, and that’s a fun night for us as judges,” he added.
