The tenure of Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor has finally come to an end, and it will be another year before the Tardis return to the small screens. The 60th anniversary will be celebrated in November 2023, with David Tennant reprising his legendary role and introducing Gatwa’s Doctor.

Filming on “Doctor Who” Season 14 has reportedly commenced, with Dylan Holmes Williams, who previously directed episodes of M. Night Shyamalan’s Servant, helming the first episode. Furthermore, showrunner Russell T. Davies, who previously worked with the 9th and 10th Doctors, stated that “Doctor Who” would return annually, with no gap years between seasons.

So far, these are the confirmed cast members who will star in “Doctor Who” Season 14: Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, the Doctor’s companion, Jemma Redgrave as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, Aneurin Barnard as Roger Gwilliam, Anita Dobson as Mrs Flood, Jack Forsyth-Noble as Will, Indira Varma as the Duchess, Bonnie Langford as Melanie Bush and Lenny Rush as Morris.

Moreover, per Digital Spy, Michelle Greenidge, Jinkx Monsoon, Jonathan Groff, Bhav Joshi, Eilidh Loan, Pete MacHale, Miles Yekinni, and Hemi Yeroham were also cast for “Doctor Who” Season 14 but in undisclosed roles.

‘Doctor Who ‘ Season 14 Plot

While viewers may assume that Season 14 will follow the show's standard premise of a regenerating Time Lord traveling about time and space with a companion while saving the world here and there, there is no confirmed plot for “Doctor Who” Season 14 as of this writing. The forthcoming installment will most likely discuss the Doctor's previous regeneration, as Tennant is expected to transform into Gatwa during the 60th anniversary special.

Due to Jemma Redgrave's comeback as Kate Stewart, it has also been reported that UNIT will appear again in “Doctor Who” Season 14. Tennant is scheduled to morph into Gatwa during the 60th anniversary special, hence the series will most likely explore the Doctor's earlier regeneration.
