Although one of the most controversial Marvel TV projects in the industry, there are still many who anticipate the premiere of “Agents of Shield” Season 6. Unfortunately for fans of the program, this upcoming season is going to be a lot shorter than previous ones. To make their day brighter, though, Clark Gregg who plays Phil Coulson recently teased how his character first met Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).
As Otaku Art reports, “Agents of Shield” Season 6 is going to have only 13 episodes instead of the normal 22 that the previous seasons had. The revelation of this episode count has since fanned rumors that this season is going to be its last. Although no official confirmation of this fact has been released, so far, there’s no denying that the possibility exists.
It’s also worth remembering that ABC would have no qualms ending everything after “Agents of Shield” Season 6. After all, it didn’t hesitate to pull the plug with “Inhuman,” with the former boss at ABC, Channing Dungey being quite blunt about why it was axed.
“Inhumans didn’t perform for us at the level that we would’ve wanted. The numbers, unfortunately, were less exciting for us than we hoped they would be,” he had said.
If “Agents of Shield” is about to meet the same fate following “Agents of Shield” Season 6, though, fans might as well enjoy whatever remaining time they have with the characters. With Phil Coulson being a fan favorite, the details about how he met Nick Fury would be quite interesting.
This is exactly what he shared with Entertainment Weekly, calling the first meeting that his character has with that of Samuel L. Jackson to be “meet-cute.” This likely refers to the two instantly forming a bond of friendship, which should hopefully be visible in “Agents of Shield” Season 6. The upcoming season will premiere at some point in 2019.
